Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how BoilerService.com works. In short: we are an online marketplace and introducer. Independent Gas Safe engineers do the gas work. BoilerService handles customer payments for bookings.

This page is a draft for our MVP. It should be reviewed by a solicitor before you rely on it in a dispute. Last updated 21 September 2026.

1. Who we are

BoilerService.com (“BoilerService”, “we”, “us”) is part of the MyBoiler.com family of sites. We operate as an online marketplace and introducer: we connect customers with independent Gas Safe registered engineers who can carry out boiler servicing, repair, and related heating work.

We also publish guides and checklists. Those materials are information only — they are not a substitute for a qualified engineer attending your property.

2. The contract for gas work

The contract for any gas work (including annual service, repair, inspection, or related heating work) is between you and the attending engineer.

BoilerService is not the contractor performing that work. We do not employ the engineers listed or matched through this site, and we do not carry out gas work ourselves. Introducing you to an engineer — and handling payment for the booking — does not make BoilerService a party to the workmanship contract.

3. Independent engineers

Engineers on the marketplace are independent businesses. They are responsible for:

  • their own Gas Safe registration and competence for the work they take on
  • the quality and safety of workmanship at your property
  • any certificates, records, or manufacturer requirements that apply to the job
  • their own insurance, tools, parts, and aftercare for the work they complete

You should satisfy yourself that the engineer is suitable for the job. If something goes wrong with the work, your first route is the engineer who attended.

4. Payments

Customers pay via BoilerService. We collect payment for the booking (typically through a secure online payment or payment link). This is payment processing for the marketplace, not BoilerService acting as the gas contractor.

After we receive payment, we may deduct a platform fee and pay the remainder to the engineer. Collecting or passing on money in this way does not make BoilerService the provider of the gas work, the employer of the engineer, or the party responsible for workmanship.

Do not assume the engineer will take payment separately on WhatsApp or at the door unless we or the engineer tell you otherwise for a specific job (for example extra parts agreed on site). The standard booking payment is handled by BoilerService.

5. Pricing

Engineers set their own prices. A quote, slot, or price confirmed with you (including on WhatsApp) comes from the engineer, not from BoilerService as the contractor.

Any recommended, typical, or guide prices we publish are advisory only. They are not a fixed tariff and do not bind the engineer or BoilerService. The price that applies is the one agreed for your booking, plus any extra work you later agree with the engineer.

6. Guides and our liability

Checklists, articles, and other content on this site are general information. They are not professional advice, and they do not create a duty of care for a specific boiler or property. Gas and heating work must be carried out by a suitably qualified person.

To the extent permitted by law, BoilerService is not liable for workmanship, delays, or losses arising from the engineer’s work, or from your use of the guides. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited.
